Discussion:
Tikiwiki support needed

Tikiwiki, the current first candidate for content
management/wiki/forums, is an extremely featureful, well developed piece
of software. Unfortunately, with features comes complexity, and Zynot
has requirements beyond tiki (not that anything lives up to our
requirements, but tiki seems to get closer than most).

Due to the above, I have three requests:

1) Would any more lingual doc people step forward to become tiki content
editors (reviewing articles that have been submitted, tending to wiki,
keeping the forums alive). Very little technical knowledge should be
required for doing this.

2) Would any graphically oriented people step forward to customise the
look of our tiki (mainly CSS). The themes for tiki are a combination of
htmlish template files (which don't *need* to be edited quite yet), and
massive CSS files (Properly formatted with comments removed, ~1500
line). I have begun editing the default to look more like our
http://zynot.org/css/zynot.css file, but a large amount of holes in the
current design need filled, and I would rather have someone(s) with a
knack for color and layout handle it.

3) Would any more technically oriented (php especially) people step
forward to not only finalize and tend to the settings and code of tiki,
but also integrate themselves with the tikiwiki developmental community.
We consider contributing upstream to help tiki better cope without our
demands as much more beneficial than maintaining Zynot-only changes, not
only to us, but also to the community in general.

The drive to work with the tikiwiki community has been on more levels
than just code. Interest has been shown in both directions to develop a
lasting relationship. Assuming our community approves of it, we will be
pursuing this opportunity to the fullest.

So, if you're interested and willing, please contact me through mail and
or irc, and I'll see what you can do.

On a side note ;), it would be nice to have a functional, somewhat
nice-looking tikiwiki at www.zynot.org (using the articles as a
frontpage) before Linux World Expo, which is August Fourth.

Thanks,
Graham
