or "What I'd like to see us get done by LWESF".

Below is a list of the criteria against which I would like to measure
porteus-0.5. This list has been created with the thought that we want
something to show people at LinuxWorldExpo in August. Porteus-0.5 will
be based on the current Python implementation of portage.

Why version 0.5? Because we don't have time to do everything I think we
should have for a 1.0 release.

Features:

* support for syncing to the zynot tree layout via rsync
* support for syncing multiple tree overlays and logic to resolve
conflicts when more than one overlay provides a package (see
algorithm in this thread:
http://forums.zynot.org/viewtopic.php?t=225)
* 100% API documentation in "PyDoc format"
* a (possibly primitive) test harness in place and 100% line
coverage
* a HOWTO for installing [insert our distro name here] (this is
really an item for the docs folks, but I think it should be a
requirement).

Please see the link below for a tentative roadmap/schedule
http://wiki.zynot.org/zynot/moin.cgi/PackageManagerRoadmap

Comments and questions are welcome.
Thanks.

can we make sure the signed dist/ebuilds is in here as well. Soon as Im
done with infra stuff I can start working on it. Tho this may be
something external to porteus initially. Porteus will have to interface
it.

This might be a bit of a stretch to get in before LWSF I would think.
